I was born and grew up in Bristol, going to school there and started my first job working in finance for Bristol City Council for a few years. Following this I got married, moved to Berkeley and worked locally, before raising my family.
When the children were old enough, I obtained a job in a Bristol school as the Bursar. During this time we moved to the The Salutation Inn in Ham as landlords meeting many local people. In 2013 we left the 'Sally' but still live in Ham, and I became a local councillor.
